In mid-August of 2021, Ben and I were returning home from a trip to Damariscotta, ME. We had stopped at a rest area near Conway, NH before heading through the White Mountains, and Ben saw an informational sign for something called the Northern Forest Canoe Trail, or NFCT, a "740-mile scenic paddling trail" that connects communities between Old Forge, NY and Fort Kent, ME. That's cool, we thought.
